The concern to increase and sustain the enrollment of incoming students to the courses offered by the Department of Library Science of the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences of the National University of La Plata (hereinafter, FaHCE-UNLP) led to the design and implementation of various strategies. One of them was the design and carry out promotion and diffusion activities in diverse fields. The second was the proposal to implement an introductory course to the professorships and Bachelor's degrees in Librarianship and Information Science, which was presented and put into practice for the first time in the 2015. Previously to this proposal, the students receive only an informative talk in the week before the beginning of the school year. The actions implemented since then, which have been in line with the income strategies developed by the other Departments and the Academic Secretary of the FaHCE-UNLP, have resulted in a valuable and necessary experience, which was positively valued both by the 2015 entrants and For those who have just attended the course in 2016. In this brief paper we account for this new experience, its motivations and development, the results obtained and the reflections that arise from here |
