This study aims to investigate the information quality (IQ) criteria considered by professors and researchers when selecting information resources from the Web to use in their teaching and research activities. A theoretical investigation was performed to raise concepts about the Internet and its exploration in the academic environment; the process of information sources evaluation and the impacts brought from the use of these sources. A sample survey was conducted with the faculty staff from the Federal University of Paraná and a questionnaire was made available online. Among the study discoveries, are information sources categories assigned by the survey respondents as well as the concerns of professors and researchers with scientific accuracy over the processes of use and selection of information sources from the Internet |
