In the time of dynamic changes modern scientific journals in order to meet the expectations of more and more demanding users must make use of the available on the market information technologies. This paper analyses 309 electronic journals indexed in the category of medicine in Arianta database. Selected elements of the use of new technologies on the official websites of these journals are discussed including: access to the numbers of full current and archive articles, search engines of resources, the use of social media for publication promotion, forum and experts’ advice, editing option of online articles, access to the website via mobile devices. From these journals those with Impact Factor 2011 were selected. In this group special attention was paid to: DOI and Handle identificators, presence in digital libraries and repositories, publishing in Open Access system. |
