The message that is analyzed in this paper is the international campaign @your library which IFLA and ALA had undertaken and expanded in the whole world. The goal is to train the libraries’ users to the collections and services in a brief and accurate expression. The slogans and actions had various different forms, such as posters, articles in newspapers, advertisements, happenings,, educational courses, websites, leaflets and also gazettes etc. The paper describes the objectives of the campaign, the target groups, and the social context in which it develops. A number of the slogans are presented and analyzed under the methods of subject analysis, as metaphors and metonyms and their interpretation. |
