Poetry is a form of literary art in which language is used for its aesthetic and evocative qualities in addition to, or in lieu of, its apparent meaning. Poetry may be written independently, as discrete poems, or may occur in conjunction with other arts, as in poetic drama, hymns, lyrics, or prose poetry. poetry is published in dedicated magazines, e-zines, individual collections and wider anthologies, although it is rare to see anything other than lyric poetry outside of collections. Poetry, and discussions of it, have a long history. Early attempts to define poetry such as Aristotle's Poetics, focused on the uses of speech in rhetoric, drama, song, and comedy. A poet is a person who writes poetry. A poet's work can be literal, meaning that his work is derived from a specific event, or metaphorical, meaning that his work can take on many meanings and forms. Poets have existed since antiquity, in nearly all languages, and have produced works that vary greatly in different cultures and time periods. Throughout each civilization and language, poets have used various styles that have changed through the course of literary history resulting in a history of poets as diverse as the literature they have produced. Apoet makes himself a visionary through a long, boundless, and systematized disorganization of all the senses.
