Since a long time, clinicians and researchers were feeling the dearth of a dedicated book that addresses the health issues of adolescents with HIV infection. The book, ``A Textbook on HIV Infection and AIDS in Adolescents`` is thus planned and brought out. It is compiled by a number of renowned contributors who are distinguishable and adept in their field. This book will give insight into health problems of adolescents, and shall help in planning and implementing the strategies to control and prevent HIV and AIDS in a more effective manner. The first few chapters deal with the description, transmission and socio-demographic location of HIV/AIDS in adolescents. The next few chapters associate with the health and behavioral aspects of the adolescent, and with the medical, psychological and legal aspects of STDs and HIV/AIDS. The last few describes the measures/programmes taken for care, precautions and control by the government and the related agencies. |
