Elsie's extended family enjoys a round of holiday calls that ends in an enchanting party for all at Woodburn, the Raymond family's new home. In the summer that follows, Lulu and Grace become the proud owners of new ponies, and Elsie and Violet welcome new editions to their budding families, born just one day apart. Captain Raymond, however, reinjures his ankle during a terrible spill from a horse.
