The subject of this article is the terminological definitions of some concepts in the field of information technology, the study of forms of existence of electronic information resources and the organization of electronic information resources in libraries. The aim of the article is to analyze the types of information objects, which are defined as electronic information resources, their modern forms and directions of organization. Methodology of the research is based on systemic and structural approaches, on methods of comparative, logical and structural-functional analysis. The scientific novelty lies in the analysis of terminological definitions of some concepts in the field of information technology, in the study of common forms of existence of electronic information resources, highlighting aspects of the presentation of electronic documents on the library website. As a result of research based on the experience of the Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine (VNLU), a technological model of organization of electronic information resources in libraries are proposed. The main stages of organization of electronic information resources in a modern library are presented. The main fields of the database "Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine" for the scientific organization of electronic periodicals in the VNLU are given. Conclusions. Today, more and more scientific information is used and stored only in electronic form. Therefore, one of the main activities of modern libraries is the formation of collections of electronic information documents, providing local and online access to users, as the status of the library today is determined by its ability to accumulate, process, store and organize access to information resources: electronic journals, electronic books, databases, etc. With the introduction of electronic information technology, libraries have gained additional opportunities to disclose the content of available resources by creating, in particular, bibliographic full-text databases, which significantly shorten the reader’s path to information. |
