In the Soviet Union of the 1960s and 1970s, the culture of opposition created its own language based on quotations, allusions, and double meanings. A good example of the use of quotations is given by the movies of the director Andrej Chržanovskij (1939): while working in the field of animated movies, he speaks to an adult audience able to understand hidden references. |
