Popis:	This short review is devoted to the role of α-blockers, particularly doxazosin as their typical representative, in the treatment of patients with hypertension. The role of doxazosin when used as a component of combination antihypertensive therapy in overcoming resistance to treatment is emphasized. Specific clinical conditions when doxazosin is especially effective are described.
