Background: The integration of ICT as tools for designing teaching media has shown its relevance in the training process, enabling student learning. Objective: to design an educational software as a didactic and bibliographic tool for the subject "Etiology and pathogenesis of the chronic immunoinflammatory periodontal disease" of the Periodontics subject. Methods: a technological innovation research was carried out in the Stomatology Faculty at the University of Medical Sciences, Villa Clara from January to February, 2019. Theoretical methods: historical-logical method, analytical-synthetic method and inductive-deductive method, and empirical methods: nominal group and initial survey questionnaire and final questionnaire for students; and mathematical methods, were used. Different kinds of software were used: WebStorm, Photoshop and Office. Results: Most of the students chose the educational software as the medium of instruction for studying the subject. This software includes three icons with hyperlinks to the contents according to the program objectives, as well as videos, curiosities, basic and complementary bibliographies and cases problem. Conclusions: The educational software PatogenioWeb in Periodontology was evaluated according to the criteria of specialists and users, who gave positive opinions about the design, usefulness, ease of use and applicability. |
