Tis article takes into account the intellectual collaboration of Piero Calamandrei and Norberto Bobbio during the period from the Second World War to 1956. Calamandrei’s and Bobbio’s approaches to culture, law and politics are comparatively investigated, highlighting their reflections on the status of intellectuals, the relationships between culture and power, the sources of individual rights, the functioning of the legal system, the constitutional processes, and the relationships between liberalism, democracy and socialism. Lastly, it is suggested that the connection between Calamandrei’s and Bobbio’s thoughts derives from their common interest in the philosophy of the Enlightenment and from a shared ideal of justice. |
