This paper discusses the relationship between cultural and social systems within Alexandra Lopes da Cunha's novel, Demorei a gostei da Elis. The narrative has characteristics of a polysystem capable of embracing within itself other fields/systems that are constantly being questioned and put in check by the characters and the narrator. This work, of bibliographical analytical nature, in the first part, as an example of the approximation between the two theories, considers the relationship within the power system that leads to the canonization or not of a work, based on the theoretical considerations of Itamar Even-Zohar and compared to those of Pierre Bourdieu, the former evidencing the relationship between the semiotic systems and the latter the internal and external disputes of the fields of production. From this, in the second part, deepening Zohar's theory, an analysis of the systems that are presented in the narrative is built, namely: the family, the historical, the semiotic and the cultural. |
