Popis: The health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic forced Ecuadorian educational institutions to suspend their face-to-face activities and adopt teleworking as an alternative to the regular teaching and learning processes. From the teaching standpoint, this decision brought with it an alteration in the traditional way of teaching. The objective of this research is to determine the impact of teleworking on the management of public teachers in Riobamba in the face of the health emergency caused by COVID-19. The study draws on theoretical perspectives related to the variables of the study, telework, and teaching management. A descriptive method with a quantitative approach was employed. The research design was a nonexperimental type. A type of probabilistic sampling was used and data were collected through a survey of 338 teachers from 28 fiscal educational units in the city of Riobamba. The results show unequal distribution of technological equipment to teachers for carrying out their work. High demand for professional training amongst the educators for the management and application of information and communication technologies in the field of education was also noted. In addition, an increase in the time used for the activities of teaching management was seen and little support and technical advice from the institutions was provided.
