A convenient and highly efficient catalytic oxidation of alcohol to acid using CoCl2-[Cemim]Br under mild conditions

Popis: Herein we first reported on the CoCl2 supported ionic liquid [Cemim] Br-catalysed conversion of aliphatic and aromatic alcohol to acid using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant. The oxidation reaction proceeded selectively with good yields in comparison to various other solvents. This method as appealing way for greener oxidation system includes mild reaction condition, short reaction time, less poisonous catalyst and oxidant under optimal condition give well to good yields.
