In this study, active ratio tests were carried out with a kinetic approach on calcite samples, which were surface-modified with stearic acid in the laboratory and on an industrial scale. Also, product properties were supported by particle size and FTIR analysis. According to the results, the highest active ratios were achieved at 0.1 kWh-1% SA condition. When the particle size distributions were evaluated, the products with the finest particle size distribution were measured in the test obtained under the condition of 0.1 kWh (1% SA) and in the sample taken from the pin mill process. It was observed that stearic acid was adsorbed onto the ground + surface-modified particle surfaces by FTIR measurements. On the other hand, within the scope of this study, the application of the active ratio test procedure depending on the time and the stirrer speed increased the test reliability and gave an idea about the changes in the hydrophobicity of the particles depending on the time. |
