Popis: A comparison of children´s values (from 10 to 12 years old) was made between children from Mexico and France. It was based on 202 Mexican and 118 French children, enrolled in fifth and sixth grade of elementary school. For this the Valdez Medina (2001) instrument was used. The applications were made in collective form in the classrooms. Results show that there are differences in the values that guide a child´s life, finding that Mexican children are oriented by working values, in contrast to French children who are guided by altruistic values. By comparing the values in relation to sex for each culture, it was possible to observe that Mexican girls consider themselves to be more educated than boys. Also, in the case of France, it was interesting to observe that guys are more effective and practice good manners more than girls, which contrasts with what was observed
