Within the framework of “Plan Campus” announced in 2008, the University of Lyon began in 2014 the process of consultation for the energy efficiency retrofitting of amenities in the science department of the Lyon Tech-Doua campus, through a design-build-operate-maintain procedure. This project concerns twenty buildings and two entities: l’Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) and l’Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL). Each of these entities, despite being designed by the architect Jacques Perrin-Fayolle, have unique architectural identities. Based on the objectives of reducing energy consumption, the solutions developed for the two types of facades are presented, including that of Jean Prouvé for the INSA. The second, more recent consultation for the pharmacy department on the Timone campus in Marseille (Rene Egger, architect) is also presented. Finally, the effects of this type of procedure resulting from "global performance contracts" on the preservation of the university heritage of the 1960s are analyzed. |
