| Popis: | This paper deals with faunal remains destruction due to frost/thaw cycles in natural environment during four years. For this study, different types of bones were used (fresh bones, dry bones, burned as well as fossil bones). The longitudinal monitoring of these remains allowed us to observe the appearance and the evolution of the modifications produced by the action of frost / thaw cycles. Besides, the loss of the material, engendered by the action of vultures as well as by the fragmentation of the rests, is observed. Finally, these results allow us to discuss the implications generated by the action of these agents on zooarchaeological studies led in Palaeolithic deposits formed under periglacial conditions. |
