Popis: | Strategies aiming to increase straw production by crops should be implemented in the Cerrados region in order to consolidate the livestock-farming integration. This paper objectified to study some forms of integration involving offseason maize and Brachiaria ruziziensis, evaluating corn grain productivity and mass productivity of the grass in direct sowing system, using the interaction agriculture and cattle farming. The experiment was done under field conditions, in a dystrophic red-yellow latosol, at Nadiana farm, located in Sorriso-MT, in the harvest 2007/2008. A randomized blocks experimental design was used. Treatments were five types of cultivation: single corn at 0.45m row spacing; corn and brachiaria in the same row spaced 0.45m; single brachiaria at 0.45m row spacing; corn spaced 0.90m with brachiaria in the inter-row; corn spaced 0.90m with brachiaria in both intra and inter-row. Brachiaria intercropped with maize significantly affected grain productivity. Highest grain yield was obtained in the single corn cultivation and the intercropping maize-Brachiaria in row and inter-row provided highest total dry matter yield, favoring soil covering. |
