In the context of the Russian diasporic literature, fictional biography based on the life of the greatest national writers has emerged over time. A recurring name is the one of Ivan Turgenev to whom the writers Boris Zajcev and Alja Rachmanova, even if with different purposes, dedicated a biography. The essay focuses on differences and similarities between the two works, comparing the archive materials used by the two authors and their reference network. |
