This is a case with associated radiologic and intra-operative images for an infant who presented with hemoperitoneum and acute abdomen. Pre-operative imaging included abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography, which raised suspicion for a pelvic mass concerning for malignancy. These studies prompted diagnostic laparoscopy, which revealed a ruptured ovarian mass and allowed for appropriate surgical management with resection. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of juvenile granulosa cell tumor. Although an uncommon cause of acute abdomen in infants, juvenile granulosa cell tumor is important to include in the differential and promptly treat due to associated complications with delays in diagnosis and surgical management. |
