The main objective of this study is to analyze the concept of corruption and approaches to study in ethnology and socio-cultural anthropology. The subject of analysis is the work of foreign and Russian scientists on the theme of the phenomenon of corruption from the standpoint of anthropological and interdisciplinary approaches. The author aims to present an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the anthropocentric method of studying corruption. Methodology. The basis of the study is the hermeneutic method, based on the principles and methods of studying corruption and informal practices that fall under its definition. While writing the material there were used general scientific methods of analysis, allowing to consider the role of corruption and attitude to it in various societies, and descriptive and comparative methods. The socio-anthropological method is aimed at finding the root causes of corruption in established social practices that have origin in traditions, customs, and stereotypes. The theory of dual heredity studies the viability of cultural practices through the prism of evolution. Manifestations of corruption in modern authorities and large companies are investigated using ethno-political and institutional research methods. Practical implications. The results of the study can be applied in a theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of corruption, further research using the described multidisciplinary approaches to the study of corruption, the practice of teaching anti-corruption courses, and writing programs to reduce the negative impact on society. |
