Popis: | The Byzantine emperor Basil II allocated to royal family the land possessions in Asia Minor. The Bulgarian aristocracy was a part of Byzantine elite, and Bulgarians didn’t take part in management of Eastern themates of the Empire till 1071. Many members of the Armenian ruling families were compelled to exchange the possession for lands in Asia Minor under Byzantine pressure. Mainly, these territories were occupied by the Armenian population. After the Seljuk’s invasion the Armenian nobility, were lived in Asia Minor, aspired for independent to Constan-tinople. Finally, some of them created new states until 1071. |
