Popis: Drying seaweed can be challenging and energy-intensive, requiring careful attention to detail. That is why improving drying efficiency and ease of transport is crucial. Fortunately, a recent study has found a solution that can help achieve these goals. The dryer comes in two setups: horizontal and vertical configurations. The study conducted six experiments, three for each configuration, including tests for maximum load, shade, and no shade. The data collected from monitoring ambient temperature, relative humidity, moisture content ratio, and solar irradiance were analyzed. The study found that varying drying times achieved the desired 40 % moisture content for the seaweed. The horizontal no-shaded test had the shortest drying time, averaging 16.7 h, and the maximum drying efficiency of 31.27 %. The Henderson and Pabis model was the most accurate drying model, with 98.66 % accuracy in describing seaweed drying behavior.
