Based on surveys and interviews conducted in 2020 and 2021, this article explores perceptions and preparations regarding volcanic risk in Guadeloupe. Although adaptive strategies have evolved since the last eruptive crisis in 1976, the study reveals widespread ignorance of evacuation procedures, reveals the ineffectiveness of a top-down management approach, and reveals citizens' distrust of their government. To strengthen their preparedness for future eruptive crises, it is necessary to explore avenues for improvement in this context. |
