Popis:	The article presents the results of studies and investigations concerning some aspects of exhaust emission and methods of assessment of its influence on the environment. Some issues related to the modelling of emission level and costs of environmental protection have been discussed. The results of investigations concerning vehicle durability have been presented in the context of the need to meet more restrictive emission standards.
