| Popis: | The aim of this study was to evaluate the response of maize to two sources of nitrogen, and the influenceof time of nitrogen fertilization on yield of corn grown in a reduced row spacing under no-tillage system. The experimentwas conducted in the 2005/06 growing season, in Coimbra, MG, Brazil. The soil was classified as an Acrisol dystrophicphase terrace. A randomized blocks experimental design was used, in a factorial scheme (3 x 7) with four replications,being the factors: three hibrids (AG 9010, P 3041, DKB 333), seven treatments: 1 - pre-planting with urea, 2 - preplantingwith calcium nitrate, 3 - planting with urea, 4 - planting with calcium nitrate, 5 - application of urea duringthe vegetative stage 4 th leaf fully expanded, 6 - application of calcium nitrate at the vegetative stage of 4th fullyexpanded leaf and 7 - 30.4 kg ha-1 nitrogen at planting. The cultivar P 3041 showed better performance in the evaluatedcharacteristics, except for nitrogen content.The timing of N application did not affect rates of productivity of maize. |
