| Popis: | This paper deals with the current development of television fiction in the United States focusing on the showrunner, who is responsible for the creative direction of the program. It is an industrial position that began to get relevance in the 90s and nowadays it is one of the elements on which the current critical recognition of the television series is based. First we will approach the concept from a historical point of view, and then we will analyze the professional functions of the showrunner and the relationship with discourses about television series. Finally, as a conclusion, we will see how the figure of the showrunner is starting to be used in other countries. |
