Popis:	This text is a transcription of the speech delivered by Eduardo L. Menéndez at the ceremony in which he was conferred a Doctorate Honoris Causa by the Universidad Nacional de Lanús on March 27, 2023. The speech covers aspects of his youth and academic career in Argentina, prior to his exile in Mexico in 1976, and reflects on various processes that due to a number of circumstances consciously or unconsciously oriented his field of inquiry and contextualize his theoretical contributions.
