Popis: | Indonesia is lagging behind in term of Human Capital Index (HCI) compared to neighboring countries in Southeast Asia has prompted the government to make various programs to improve Human Resources (HR). Vocational High School (SMK) institution is an institution which has received special attention from the government in creating fresh graduates who are ready to compete in the work field. The Center for Excellence program in Vocational High School is one of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in preparing excellent teachers and graduates. SMK Multistudi High School Batam is among 895 Vocational Schools in Indonesia in 2021 chosen by the government to apply the Center of Excellence program. This program has big expectation to help teachers to find solution in every learning problem in order to produce graduates who are ready to compete in the work field. This research is a quantitative research having 45 teachers of SMK Multistudi High School Batam as the samples for this study. The aim of the study is to analyze the correlation of pedagogical competence and teacher self-confidence towards the success of the Center of Excellence Program in Vocational High School program. It turned out that teacher self-confidence did not have any correlation with the success of the Center of Excellence Vocational High School program with a T- test value showing t count 0.097< t table 1.679 and sig.0.454 > α 0.05. The result of the study also found there was a positive and partially significant correlation between pedagogical competence and teacher confidence in the success of the Center of Excellence in Vocational High School program. In increasing human resources, both pedagogical competence and teacher confidence are as control and planning. So, if both have increased, then it also has a correlation with the improvement of the Center of Excellence Program in SMK. |
