Bartholomew, who celebrated his 75th birthday in 2018, and to introduce the commemorative issue of Catalysts compiled in his honor. Following a brief biography that celebrates the career and contributions of Professor Bartholomew, the nine articles that make up the special issue are briefly reviewed. Dr. Bartholomew is an eminent researcher, an outstanding educator, mentor, and friend.
