Popis: This is a translation of the chronicle “¡Estas mujeres!” by Rubén Darío (1867-1916), author considered the pioneer of the literary modernism in Spanish. In this chronicle, published in 1912, the Nicaraguan writer approaches questions of feminism in France and England, concentrating specially in woman’s presence in the politic. The translation is guided by a feminist reading/interpretation since translation is the supreme act of a translator comprehension. During my reading, I aimed to work with the text language, exploring linguistic resources and rhetorical questions. Therefore, the political exercise of my translation was built on linguistic rhetorical. Although the chronicler seems to endorse a hegemonic and sexist discourse, there are linguistic elements in the text that highlights an ironic mood. Thus, I searched to emphasize the irony in order to accentuate the dubiousness of feminist perspective of the text.
