Methodology. This study uses a cognitive-pragmatic approach to discourse analysis. Analysis and description of linguistic material were carried out on the basis of general scientific methods of observation, comparison and generalization of linguistic facts (comparison, analysis, systematization, differentiation, classification). Results. The study has revealed various discursive strategies, i.e., prayer, confessional, invocatory, affirmative, explanatory and ritual. The components of religious discourse are emotionality, dialogism and modality. In religious discourse, various techniques and methods depend on the purpose of discourse and on its genre.
