In this article are discussed the current problems in developing innovative and scientific activities in the Republic of Belarus. The approaches to assessing the development of innovation and research activities in the country are analysed on the basis of various indicators, including the level of technological development of the economy, the dynamics of patent applications and patent issuance as well as the Global Innovation Index. The article also analyses the level of development of university research in the country through several indicators. On this basis, have been identified economic factors, production factors and other factors that hinder the development of innovations in the Republic of Belarus and the main barriers to innovation in the country. |
