The high level of violence that hurts El Salvador is also a factor that undermines the full exercise of the rights of childhood and adolescence. The purpose of this research was to analyze the current situation of the rights of childhood and adolescence with an emphasis on victimization by domestic violence in El Salvador. Similarly, it aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the family normative framework and the existing institutional scaffoldingfor the protection of the rights of childhood and adolescence. It follows the methodology proposed by Hernández Sampieri, Fernández Collado, & Pilar Baptista (2014) which considers a mixed approach with a design of integration and predominance of the qualitative analysis between descriptive data. The research was conducted during the period January to December 2016 in the cities of San Salvador and San Miguel, El Salvador. The subjects of analysis were judges, procurato rs and coordinators of public institutions who have a deep knowledge of the rights of childhood and adolescence. Thestatistical data was obtained with the support of the Law on Access to Public Information through official request. Finally, it was found that 52% of household used violent methods against childhood. Besides that, the right to a life free from violence is far from becoming a reality for childhood and adolescence due to structural reasons, mainly cultural, legal - political and economics present in the family groups that unfailingly result in themanifestation of violence psychological, physical, patrimonial and sexual. |
