Popis: Despite being a book of great importance for Brazilian and Portuguese poetry since the 19th century, Les fleurs du mal only received its first (almost) integral translation in Portuguese in 1958, in Brazil, by Jamil Almansour Haddad, followed by the translations of Ignacio de Souza Moitta (1971) and Ivan Junqueira (1985). The first Portuguese integral edition is of 1992, made by Fernando Pinto do Amaral, followed by the translation of Maria Gabriela Llansol (2003). Brazil, in the 21st century, again welcomes Les fleurs du mal with the launch in 2011 of two more complete translations, by Mário Laranjeira (2011) and Helena Amaral (2011, 2013). Although they have already been studied in Brazil and in Portugal, there are few reflections that compare these Brazilian and Portuguese translations; comparison that allows us to ask interesting questions about the translation practices on both sides of the continent.
