| Popis: | The aim of this article is to reveal the specific features of the theological position of Pope Francis regarding the problems of modern society. Research methodology. A culturological approach is applied whereby theological views appear in the context of the development of a certain time culture and reflect its general features Results. The author considers the theological views of Pope Francis in the context of the further implementation of the ideas of the Second Vatican Council in the life and theological activity of the Roman Catholic Church. The main features of Francis theology are the theological justification for the need for dialogue between the Church and modern society, and the broad extension of such dialogue. Bergoglio’s views on such controversial problems of our time as bioethics, poverty, corruption, etc. are analyzed. It is revealed that Pope Francis increases the importance of social topics in the space of theological issues. Novelty. An attempt is made to analyze Pope Francis’ theological views in the context of his attitude to contemporary culture. The practical significance. The material of the article can be used to teach courses on contemporary religious thought. |
