An important component of quality control for statistical graphics software is theability not only to test that code runs without errors, but also to test that code producesthe right result. The simple way to test for the correct result in graphical output is totest whether a test le diers from a control le; this is eective in determining whethera dierence exists. However, the test can be signicantly enhanced by also producing agraphical image of any dierence; this makes it much easier to determine how and why twoles dier. This article describes the graphicsQC package for R, which provides functionsfor producing and comparing les of graphical output and for generating a report of theresults, including images of any dierences. |
