Popis: | Purpose. To study the clinical results of angle-supported phakic intraocular lenses (pIOL) implantations in patients with high myopia.Material and methods. The study group included 16 patients (32 eyes) aged 25±5 years (from 21 to 36 years) with high myopia – 13.33±2.82D (from -8.25 to -18.25D), where excimer laser refractive procedures were not indicated due to the thin cornea pachymetry readings and/or high predicted residual refractive error. The conventional examinations were performed preoperatively and in different postoperative periods (follow-up: up to 1 year). The preoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0.68±0.18 (within the range from 0.3 to 1.0). In addition to the standard examinations, special diagnostic techniques were carried out including: keratotopography, pupillometry, anterior segment OCT, endothelial microscopy using the confocal microscope.Results. All surgeries were uneventful. On the first postoperative day, the uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) from 0.90 to 1.00 was noted in 88% of cases, the UCVA higher than 0.6 – in 94%. The average spherical error postoperatively was -0.54±0.56D (range from 0.00 to -1.25D) and remained stable throughout the entire follow-up. The endothelial cell loss 1 year after the surgery was equal to 3.25%. All patients were satisfied with the results of treatment.Conclusion. Implantation of anterior chamber angle-supported pIOL Acrysof Cachet in patients with a high myopia considered to be safe, effective, and providing rapid visual rehabilitation. |
