| Popis: | Spatial distribution of pacific herring Clupea pallasii in the Okhotsk Sea waters at the northeastern coast of Sakhalin Island is described on the data of surveys conducted in June-October of 1989 and 1997-2020 using bottom and midwater trawls and Danish seine. The herring distribute widely, with the main aggregations in the area with depth up to 100 m between the Lunsky Bay and Piltun Bay. These aggregations are formed by the native herring of the North-East Sakhalin population, whereas the herring in the deeper waters belong to the Okhotsk population. |
