Stavicki county during the first year of occupation: April-December 1941

| Popis: | After the defeat of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in April War, the former Stavicki County belonged to the Italian occupation area. Since the invader did not link its vital interests to this economically underdeveloped region, it left it to the Albanian government from Tirana, which organized its civil administration here during 1941. Although Italians had retained their power in the county, a leading role was taken by exponents of the Great Albanian quisling's state. That will have far-reaching consequences for local Serbian population, which will turn out to be true during 1941. This paper was written based on the material which is to be found in the Archive of the Department for History of the General Staff of the Republic of Italy, Military Archive of Serbia, Archive of Yugoslavia, Archive of Serbia, and Historical Archive of Kraljevo, and the selected scientific literature. |
