Popis: This scientific paper aims to identify the links between the use of social networking sites and the professional performance of employees in the medical field, as well as the negative side effects arising from the use of social networks, including the emergence of social network addiction and anxiety disorders or personality, especially in the post-pandemic period of COVID-19. The research indicated a significant relationship, i.e., a weak positive correlation between the use of social networks, and Internet and social network addiction. Correlations were found between the mediators belonging to the secondary effects of social media use and employee performance. According to the model developed by the author, participants who reported higher levels of anxiety disorders or internet addictions reported lower levels of performance. Those addictions are significantly related to both social media use and individual performance, and thus meets at least some of the criteria for being a mediator.
