Popis: Background. The elderly are at greater risk of underweight and the associated risk of protein and energy malnutrition. On the other hand, the lower energy requirement with an often too high intake from the diet leads to the development of overweight and obesity. Objective. The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of underweight, overweight and obesity, including abdominal obesity in Polish elderly. Material and methods. The study included 300 men and 304 women aged 65 and over from all over the country.
