Popis: | This paper discusses the Japanese evacuation during the Pacific war by analyzing Dazai Osamu’s novels, and pursuing the significance in these novels. The identity of Tsugaru residents can be confirmed from the experience of Japanese evacuation as revealed in Jyūgonenkan (For Fifteen Years). But in fact, this identity can also be found in his earlier novel, Tsugaru, based on a trip to his hometown, Shuji Tsushima, not on the evacuation experience per se. During the evacuation period, Dazai rediscovered the identity of the Tsugaru area residents, and subsequently penned a few novels based on it. Yannurukana(Oops!) described the real situation of the evacuation and the conflict between civilians from city and countryside in more detail. Therefore, it is hoped that this evacuation study marks the beginning of realizing the history of the Japanese evacuation, which has almost been forgotten in the postwar years. |
