A novel class of acoustic wave networks comprising resonators achieving prescribed coupling is proposed. The design methodology is based on classic network synthesis of doubly- and/or singly-terminated networks. A simple two-resonator network is presented in a step-by-step fashion to aid the understanding of the synthesis process. Furthermore, a pair of singly-terminated networks each comprising seven resonators is synthesized and the necessary steps involved in the design of LTE Band 25 contiguous duplexer are presented. The transmit and receive channels of the duplexer have resonators achieving prescribed couplings of 8.698% and 8.39% respectively. The electrical characteristics of the synthesized duplexer are reported confirming the validity of the proposed design methodology. |
