Popis: The article is dedicated to the Problem of Settlement of the South Frontier Territories of the Russian Empire by Serbian Granichars, who previously served in Austria. The Article gives a historiographic Overview of this Problem, justifies the Need of establishing military Frontier Settlements «the New Serbia» and the «Slavic Serbia», observes Relations Character between the Serbs and the neighbor Nationalities (the Poles, the Ukrainians, the Crimea Tatars). The Author concludes that the many ethnic Conflicts provoked by the Serbs in this Region are causing a lot of Problems for the russian Government, nevertheless it promotes expansion of Russia's southern Borders by advancing deep into the Territory of the Ottoman Empire. The article deals with the creation of settlements in the Ukraine’s south, and one of their main tasks was the protection of the Russian borders from Turks and Crimean Tatars. The author proves that Russian policy was directed on colonization of this south territory by Austrian Serbs. The Serbs were settled on the borderland with Zaporozhskaya Sech and as a result that caused different ethnic conflicts.
