Popis: This preface presents the 3rd Issue (Vol. 2, No. 2) of the Journal of Latin American Studies on Disaster Risk Reduction (Revista de Estudios Latinoamericanos sobre Reducción del Riesgo de Desastres REDER) and introduces its articles. The research articles are the result of recent investigations as well as methodological reflections on the various social, economic, political and environmental dimensions embedded within the processes of creation and reduction of disaster risks in the region. All articles are directly related to the areas of action proposed by the Sendai Framework, the global plan for disaster risk reduction adopted in 2015 by the United Nations member states, whose purpose is to prevent the occurrence of new risks and reduce existing ones and implement measures to strengthen resilience.
