| Popis: | This paper looks at the contribution pragmatism can make to an ethnography of citizenship, alongside more classic studies of collective mobilization, the vote or public issues. By taking seriously the idea of democracy as a way of life, the study aims to apprehend the way culture and political agency are formed from the everyday experiences of coexistence. Attention is given to seemingly insignificant actions that reveal a sense of the political in envisaging the world as common to all. When applied to public urban spaces, this approach makes it possible to identify the things that disturb or challenge people as they move around, and to examine how these challenges might translate into active intervention. |
