Popis:	The role of selective I1 imidazoline receptor agonists and moxonidine in particular , in modern antihypertensive therapy is discussed. Moxonidine advantages, namely positive effects on insulin resistance, endothelial dysfunction, lipid profile, and plasma fibrinolytic activity are considered.
